Together we can win and beat the Nationals on CSG mining

I want to make a difference to the lives of locals. I’m asking for your support. We must beat the Nationals to stop their plans to destroy our environment through CSG mining.

A life for social justice

I have lived the social justice cause through my life’s work and hold dear the Labor values of fairness and equity. As the General Manager of Byron Community Centre I lead the major service for the less fortunate in the Byron Shire.

Working for our community

With Mariana, my partner of 21 years, I have lived locally for eleven years and we are the proud parents of three sons and 2 grandchildren.

In 2012 I was elected by the community to the Byron Shire Council where I have:

  • Supported the declaration of our region as Gasfield Free
  • Developed a family-friendly Safe Summer in the Bay program
  • Opposed changes to the Racial Discrimination Act
  • Initiated surf safety signs for our beaches
  • Secured funding for the Street Cruise program - keeping our young people safe at night

I serve as the Chairperson of Arts Northern Rivers, Santos Organics and the Arakwal Aboriginal Committee. I am an Ambassador for White Ribbon Australia working to reduce violence against women.

Together we can beat the Nationals

The Liberals and Nationals continue to damage our community with their cruel cuts to health and education, along with harmful attacks on our environment. Their position on CSG does not reflect the values of our community.

This is why I want your support today. I will:

  • Oppose CSG in our region, the selling off of our electricity assets and the privatisation of hospitals or our TAFE system;
  • Support local job creation, a better school system, quality healthcare facilities and improved services for the elderly and disadvantaged;
  • Protect our beautiful environment.

 That contest begins today and I need your vote to make our community count. Don’t hesitate to contact me on 0434 771 510.
